UNIT 4: WHEEL OF LIFE

The Wheel of Life is a Buddhist image which explains Buddhist beliefs about life and death. We are going to use the Wheel of Life to learn about Buddhist beliefs about life and death.

Buddhists believe in rebirth and karma. Look at the big questions below. In class we will find answers to these big questions from a Buddhist point of view. You will be asked to think about your own response to these questions too. Do you agree with the Buddhist point of view?

• What causes suffering in life?
• What happens to us after we die?
• Have we lived lives before this one?
• What should the aim of our lives be?

You could look at this interactive Wheel of Life to find out what each part of the image tells us about Buddhist beliefs.
